National Security Education Program-Graduate


Description: David L. Boren Graduate Fellowships encourage U.S. graduate students to add an international dimension to their education. Students already enrolled in internationally oriented programs are encouraged to intensify their study of areas, languages, and cultures. Applicants design their own programs. All fellowships must include study of a modern language other than English and the study of an area and culture. Fellowships provide support for overseas or domestic study, or a combination of both.
Qualifications: Students must be enrolled at an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning located in the U.S. and be in the process of pursuing a graduate degree at the time the award is made. A service agreement is required.
Amount: Maximum award for overseas study is $10,000 per semester (for up to two semesters)
Application Process: A complete application includes the program proposal, budget, three letters of recommendation, and undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
