Pat Charnon's generosity and strong commitment to education, the friends and family of Pat Charnon have joined The Center for Education Solutions to establish the A. Patrick Charnon Memorial Scholarship. Each year since 1992, The Center has awarded scholarships to full-time undergraduate students who have demonstrated their commitments to building communities. ![]() American Indian Graduate Center Graduate Fellowships Description: AIGC was established in 1969 to assist American Indian college graduates desiring to continue their education at the master's, doctorate and professional degree level who need financial support. American Indians continue to be the least represented of all minority groups in the country in medicine, business, law, science and other fields requiring advanced degrees. AIGC was founded to help open the doors to graduate education for American Indians and to help tribes obtain the educated Indian professionals they need; to become more self-sufficient and exercise their rights to self-determination. Since 1958, AIS has designed many valuable programs which assist them towards self-sufficiency and building better communities. Chief among these is providing scholarships for needy Native Americans to attend colleges and vocational schools. ![]() American Institute for Economic Research Summer Fellowship Description: Summer Fellows come to the Institute for a four-week period of study and are provided with room and board plus a $300 per week stipend. Those who demonstrate exceptional potential are awarded Fellowships in-absentia if they are enrolled in an accredited graduate-degree program in economics for the succeeding academic year. In-absentia Fellows receive full or partial payment of tuition or a monthly stipend for all or part of the academic year, or both. During the past 5 years, in-absentia awards have averaged about $5,000. Qualifications: The Institute awards a dozen or more Summer Fellowships each year to students who will be entering a doctoral program in economics or affiliated program (e.g., law and economics, economic history, etc.). We also consider applications from those students enrolled in such programs for no more than two years. The program is not designed for students wishing to pursue graduate work in a business school program (e.g. MBA). ![]() American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Foundation Scholarship Program Description: The AIAA Foundation's undergraduate scholarship program offers 30 scholarships of $2000 - $2500 to college sophomores, juniors, and seniors each year. All recipients can apply to renew their scholarship annually until they graduate. And through the annual graduate scholarship program, the AIAA Foundation presents ten graduate awards worth $5000 each and four graduate awards of $10,000 each. Qualifications: 1) Applicant must have completed at least one (l) academic quarter or semester of full-time college work. 2) Applicant must have a college grade point average of not less than the equivalent of a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. 3) Applicant shall be enrolled in an accredited college or university. 4) Applicant does not have to be an AIAA student member in good standing to apply, but must become one before receiving a scholarship. 5) Applicant's scholarship plan shall be such as to provide entry into some field of science or engineering encompassed by the technical activities of AIAA. ![]() American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship Description: The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants scholarship program provides financial assistance to minority students who show significant potential to become CPAs (Certified Public Accountants). Awards are granted primarily on academic merit and personal achievement, financial need is evaluated as a secondary criteria. Qualifications: Must be a minority, a U.S. citizen, and be a declared accounting major with an overall and accounting GPA of at least a 3.30. Students need to attend school full-time and have completed at least 30 semester hours with at least 6 of those hours in accounting.
